Shoes
Rear brake shoes wear out at a slower rate than brake pads but they still need checking regularly. Remove the rear brake drum and inspect the condition of the brake shoes. Brake shoes can also get contaminated with brake fluid caused by a leaking wheel cylinder inside the brake drum.
